CDI 5* Jiva Hill Stables, D-1

The sixth edition of the International Dressage Competition (CDI) will be held from 2 to 6 August 2023 in the heart of the Haut-Jura nature park, facing Mont Blanc, at the splendid Jiva Hill Stables, recently enhanced with new prestigious facilities.

On the programme, for amateurs, professionals and young talents under the age of 25, CDI1*, 2* and 3* events, and for the first time at Jiva Hill three CDI5* classes, the highest level in the world.

Many stars of the discipline will be on the start lists, including German rider Dorothee Schneider, multiple team gold medallist at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games, at the European Championships in 2017, 2019 and 2021, and at the 2018 World Championships. Also competing her compatriots Sönke Rothenberger (a member of the winning team in 2016) and Matthias Alexander Rath.  Spain will be represented by Beatriz Ferrer-Salat, selected at four Olympic Games, and Portugal by Maria Caetano. The highly experienced Patrick Kittel will be defending the colours of Sweden, while Larissa Pauluis will do her utmost to do Belgium proud.

On the French side, Morgan Barbançon, Alexandre Ayache and Pauline Basquin, members of the French team victorious in the Nations Cup in Rotterdam last June, supported by Arnaud Serre, will be on hand to fine-tune their presentations, one month ahead of the European Championships scheduled for 5-10 September in Riesenbeck.

First highlights of these five days of great sport on August 3 and 4, the Grands Prix reserved for Amateurs and under 25’s (CDI U25). On Friday evening, an equestrian show – for a fee – by Caval’Show at 8:30 p.m., is on offer for those wishing to enjoy the day to the full (Tickets at: https://www.billetweb.fr/spectacle-equestres.

Saturday 5 August will be rich in emotion and performance with the final of the young horses aged 6 and 7, the Grand Prix Freestyle of the CDI3*, and the ICR Construction Grand Prix in the CDI 5*. On Sunday 6 August, the best young riders will compete in the Freestyle Grand Prix, while the climax of this sixth edition will see the top riders of the of the CDI5* trying to clinch victory in the Grand Prix Special Jiva Hill Resort or the Grand Prix Freestyle Cuénod Constructions SA.
